Still Life with Peaches and Grapes

Description

Still Life with Peaches and Grapes sets a mound of blushing peaches in a blue-and-white dish, with clusters of green and purple grapes spread across the table. The cool blue backdrop and pale cloth make the fruit’s warm color especially vivid.

Auguste Renoir’s loose brushwork gives the arrangement a sense of freshness and light. In Still Life with Peaches and Grapes, patterned porcelain, curling leaves and rounded fruit create a lively exchange of textures within a balanced domestic scene.
