Description

It Is Nicely Stretched by Francisco de Goya turns an everyday gesture into a closely observed exchange. A young woman leans forward to adjust her stocking, one foot raised while an older figure watches, their contrasting poses giving the scene its quiet tension.

Light draws attention to the extended leg and the movement of the hands. The darker surrounding forms keep the composition intimate, inviting the viewer to consider the relationship between the two figures.
