Description
This pencil-signed limited-edition lithograph by American artist Susan Sahall depicts a young girl with dark, softly bobbed hair and a small leafy circlet. Her broad white ruffled collar stands out against a deep burgundy dress, while loosely layered blues, lavender and cream surround the figure. Fine drawn contours give definition to her face and gathered hands, contrasting with the richly textured color and lending the portrait a quiet, thoughtful presence.
Sahall studied at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, New York, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Ohio Wesleyan University. Here, the combination of delicate line and expressive color makes the figure the clear focus of the composition. The lower-right area bears the pencil signature “Sahall,” the inscription “Print Unique,” and the edition number 23/75. The work is presented with a cream mat, a narrow contrasting inner border and a silver-tone frame.
Overall framed dimensions are approximately 32 inches high by 27 inches wide. The frame shows minor surface wear, and the paper backing has creases and small tears or punctures. A hanging wire is attached to the reverse. Please review the detail and back photographs for the visible condition.
