Description
A young woman in a blue bonnet bends her gaze toward a basket of flowers in this pencil-signed limited-edition lithograph by American artist Susan Sahall. Deep blue passages define her head covering and shoulders, while pale pink and lavender soften her skirt and the surrounding space. Burgundy, violet and yellow blossoms provide small bursts of color, and the fine outline of her profile and hands gives the scene an intimate, contemplative mood.
Sahall’s artistic education included study at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, New York, followed by a Bachelor of Arts degree at Ohio Wesleyan University. This composition brings together a carefully observed figure and freely worked areas of color and texture. The lower-right area carries the pencil signature “Sahall,” the inscription “Print Unique,” and the edition number 32/75. A cream mat with a narrow contrasting inner border and a silver-tone frame complements the subdued palette.
Overall framed dimensions are approximately 32 inches high by 27 inches wide. Minor wear is visible on the frame, and the paper backing has creases and tears, including a tear near the upper edge. A hanging wire is attached to the reverse. Please review the detail and back photographs for the visible condition.
