Description
Ornamental Design with Amphore and Antique Style Armor joins large vessels with a hanging central cuirass. Curved handles spread outward while the armor introduces a contrasting, closely patterned surface between them. Narrow supports beneath the objects give the pale drawing a measured vertical structure. The forms appear as a decorative grouping rather than as equipment in use, allowing their outlines and adjoining details to carry the composition.
Dated to the sixteenth century, the sheet is catalogued as a drawing after Polidoro da Caravaggio. Pen and brown ink over faint preparatory marks give the objects their defining edges, with a partial framing line establishing the surrounding field. The qualified attribution preserves the source relationship while allowing the drawing itself to be considered as a particular exercise in organizing antique-inspired forms across a page.
