Description
Berthe Morisot’s A Corner of the Rose Garden brings pale blossoms forward from a dense weave of green leaves and stems. A light garden structure appears at the left, partly concealed by climbing growth. Loose marks allow the plants to overlap without becoming sharply separated.
The close view makes the garden feel abundant and immediate. White and pink flowers create small pauses within the energetic foliage, while warmer touches enliven the shade. Morisot conveys the sensation of a flowering corner through shifting color and lively texture.
