Blind Orion Searching for the Rising Sun

Description

Blind Orion Searching for the Rising Sun places the towering hunter within a broad, wooded landscape. Nicolas Poussin contrasts Orion’s powerful stride with the small figures around him, while a guide on his shoulders gestures toward the distance.

Dark trees frame a luminous opening beneath a cloud-filled sky. The figures above and below, the winding path and the distant hills make the search unfold across the whole landscape, combining the scale of myth with carefully observed natural detail.
