Description
Viktor Vasnetsov’s Flying Carpet carries a richly dressed figure high above a distant landscape. The patterned carpet bends into a dark, sweeping curve, while a bright object glows near its passenger. Birds and faint landforms emphasize the open air around the flight.
The image brings a fantastic journey into a carefully painted natural setting. The carpet’s ornament and warm highlights stand against the pale sky, giving the small airborne group a clear silhouette. Vasnetsov makes the impossible passage feel poised and expansive.
