Description

Punctual Folly by Francisco de Goya places a woman and horse in an improbable balancing act above a thin rope. The broad animal and upright rider seem suspended in a space with little solid support, turning a familiar performance into something dreamlike.

Dark tones gather around the figures while the pale surrounding area heightens their exposure. The tension between weight and balance gives the scene a strange mixture of poise, vulnerability and spectacle.
