Description
Schloss Kammer on Lake Attersee III by Gustav Klimt transforms lakeside architecture into a rich arrangement of color and reflection. Red roofs and pale walls appear behind dense green trees, while the water below breaks their forms into a shimmering pattern of blues, greens and yellows.
Painted around 1911–1912, the scene draws its energy from the close relationship between solid buildings, leafy textures and moving reflections. Klimt’s compact marks create a surface that rewards slow looking: recognizable details emerge from an almost mosaic-like field of color. Schloss Kammer feels both firmly rooted in its lakeside setting and suspended in the stillness of the water.
